Milano Digital Week 2021

client: Comune di Milano

Milano Digital Week is the largest event linked to digital culture in our country.
MDW2021 represented the fourth edition of it, with a whole new face dedicated to the Fair and Sustainable City. The event, in a fully online version, wants to emphasize the importance of an open, inclusive, and fair debate on many of the issues that today are conveyed and supported by digital: from work to education, from equality to sustainable development, art and culture. The connectivity and solidarity tissue of Milan is reactivated, once again, in the biggest full digital event in Italy.

See More

Milano Digital Week is the result of the participation and collaboration of citizens, companies, institutions, councils, and many other actors who have brought together knowledge and experience, transforming them into interactive and original contributions. Milan demonstrates, once again in a complex historical moment, its role as a Fair and Sustainable City, open to all, no one excluded.

Hublab, the company with the curator portfolio, has created and organized dozens of digital events and concepts.
Many conferences, talks, webinars about wide-ranging topics such as new generations, work, tech, sustainable development, rights, equality and inclusion, and many others.

Probably due to the social distancing necessary to contain the transmission of the virus, MDW21 has been the most attended edition ever, with more than 150 thousand unique users active on the website during the 5 days of the event.
693 total events, mostly organized by third parties through the “Call for proposals” launched in January 2021 to engage the population.
4 Lectio Magistralis with high-level guests;
2 Call for Ideas, one dedicated to Italy, and one at global level to call in the best talents in Hackathons based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Moreover, we had the pleasure to host international guests from different locations in the European scenario. In total more than 310 speakers, only for the events organized by Hublab, Cariplo Factory, and IAB Italia.

Based on an idea by Nicola Zanardi and Carlo Noseda, the event was promoted by Comune di Milano – Assessorato alla Trasformazione Digitale and organized by Cariplo Factory, IAB Italia and Hublab.

Milano Digital Week 2020

client: Comune di Milano

The physical third edition of Milano Digital Week – the biggest event on digital culture in Italy – which should have been called Città Aumentata (Augmented City) has been firstly delayed due to the Covid-19 emergency and then translated in a full online edition: named, for these reasons, Città Trasformata (Transformed City). Because, like many other places around the world, Milan has been changed (and is changing) by the Virus, lead and forced to make the final qualitative leap for a complete relationship with digital technologies – now constantly present in our lives.

However, instead of being a less powerful edition, this has been the most attended one, with more than 120.000 active visitors and participants on the homonym website during the week (25-30 May), almost 600 free events, 1 Final party (the first pay-per-view streaming concert in Italy), 8 Hackathon based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, 9 digital Lectio magistralis, more than 200 speakers and more than 300 hours of entertainment. All of this made possible thanks to a huge technical coordination and digital direction – making Milano Digital Week 2020 the biggest full digital event in Europe.
